Dutch-Belgian grocery giant Ahold Delhaize has disconnected some of its systems in response to a cyberattack.
In a bare-bones notice on its website, the company revealed that it identified a security issue within its network, triggering incident response.
“Our teams are taking steps to assess and mitigate the issue. This includes taking some systems offline to help protect them,” the company said.
Ahold Delhaize said its stores remain open and that its ability to serve customers has not been affected.
According to local media, the preventive measures impacted deliveries and online orders at Albert Heijn and Delhaize brands in Belgium and the Netherlands. Stores in the US appear to have been affected as well.
In a Tuesday update, the company confirmed that its brands’ stores are experiencing issues.
“The impact of our preventative measures differs per brand. Each local brand is working hard to serve its customers and minimize disruption,” Ahold Delhaize said.
It also noted that its security team is getting ready to restore the affected systems, but did not provide an estimated timeline.
